Marshall Peck III has been observing and drawing his surroundings throughout his life. "Ever since I can recall, I have observed. Looking up from my crib in a Paris apartment...My trip to America at three by passenger boat..." He received his degree in Illustration from the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California.

Marshall's childhood heroes were Herge and Franquin, both illustrators whom he greatly respects. Marshall is dedicated to presenting children with images that communicate a commitment to storytelling, design, and depth of character. He believes "the illustrations for children must be focused on high quality. This includes the qualities of entertainment, truth, and an assumption that children are the final [and] ultimate critics."

Marshall believes that illustrating children's books brings many of his interests together, including mechanical toys, antique cars, physics, great books, and travel. He often visits schools to explain the process of illustration to young artists.

Marshall lives in New Hampshire with his wife and three children.
